A Love for Helping Others
Dentistry is what I do to help others improve their overall health and boost their self-esteem. I believe dentistry is an art. Every day I am challenged to help each individual patient in a way they cannot help themselves. Overcoming these challenges, and improving the life of people I care about, makes being a dentist fun and fulfilling. When I do my job for others, they are able to achieve their goal of a healthy and beautiful smile. There’s no better reward for me: I really love what I do!
I’ve been practicing dentistry for 14 years. It’s the perfect fit for me, because I enjoy art and working with my hands, and especially the human connection. I love starting with a tooth or smile that needs a bit of help and transforming it back to beauty and function.
I love showing people how dentistry has evolved and improved over the years. When a patient tells me they’re surprised at how easy their visit went, or how a procedure was unexpectedly painless, I consider it a win. Advances in dentistry and technology make my job a joy, and I pass that along to my patients.
I’m passionate about helping others. Whether it’s in the office or out in the community, I feel it’s a privilege to help people in need, whenever and however I can.
Education and Continuing Education
- Cooper High School
- Undergraduate degree, Hardin-Simmons University
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School
Dentistry is always changing and evolving. I actively pursue continuing education courses so I’m able to offer the best products and services that modern dentistry makes possible. These improvements in technology, treatments, and material make it easier for patients to attain the healthy, beautiful smile they deserve. I truly believe that dentistry has never been better.
At present I’m taking many continuing education courses focused on adult orthodontics and oral appliances to treat snoring and sleep apnea.

I grew up here in Abilene, went away to San Antonio for dental school, and moved back as soon as I graduated. I married Sarah, my high school sweetheart. She’s amazing and makes me laugh every day. We have three boys: Jack and Noah are twins and Henry is their little brother. Everyone in the family loves animals! As of right now we have two dogs, a cat, and ten chickens. (Note that the chickens live in the back yard, but we love them.)
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy playing golf.
